EDUC2302 Secondary Methods: Classroom Management
This course will be a study of different approaches to classroom management in the high school and assist students in developing their skills in classroom management. Developing competencies in various approaches to classroom management as well as questions concerning goals, curriculum, discipline, motivation, and instructional methods are addressed. Students will be taught current computer technology to assist in effective management.
EDUC2305 Secondary Methods: Strategies of Teaching
Students study and demonstrate teaching methods unique to their area of concentration as they apply to the Massachusetts Curriculum Framework. Students will demonstrate competency as an effective teacher by using various teaching tools to critique their own teaching style, i.e., videotaping, video conferencing, and technology. Students will develop lesson plans in their area and prepare these electronically on a web page.
EDUC3201 Curriculum Technology Integration
This course will assist students in exploring how instructional technologies can be used for teaching and learning. The course will demonstrate technology as a tool in the educational setting to enhance learning. Students will explore the application and integration of electronic tools in groupware, electronic assessment, webquests, and learn how to manage instructional and complete an electronic portfolio and develop their own web page.
EDUC3457 Student Teaching Seminar
This seminar examines the educational issues that grow out of the daily student teaching experience in the elementary or secondary school classes. It is designed to accompany and enhance practicum experience.
EDUC4467 Student Teaching Practicum
Supervised student teaching in elementary or secondary all aspects of teaching, and the development of a working point of view in the field of education.
