Department of Religious Studies
Rooted in the Catholic heritage of Emmanuel College, and emphasizing the
social justice teachings of church tradition, the Religious Studies Department
seeks to explore the historical and contemporary importance of religion as
a dimension of the human quest for meaning. We pay particular attention to
the role of women, global and national diversity of religious belief and
practice, and the ways in which religious belief interfaces with other social
institutions.
