Optional Cleaning Tools
The following tools are suggested by the Emmanuel College Helpdesk to scan and remove a number of files, cookies, and melicious programs that can effect your computer. The school does not require you to run these applications before connecting to the network, but it is highly suggested. Most of these tools can be configured to run weekly on a schedule, overnight or during classes.
Ad Aware SE Personal
AdAware SE is a software tool which scans your computer for files that contribute to excessive pop-ups, data mining, and cookies; and then removes them.

Trend Micro CWShredder v2.15
CWShredder is a useful program which finds hijacked files and small virus infections that disrupt your computer. We have found it very useful against common web browser hijacking infections and search tool-bar's that have been found on many computers on campus.
Spybot - Search & Destroy v1.4
Spybot is a useful program that finds data tracking files (data mining files) that be hidden on your computer. We have found it to be very effective in detecting and removing these files which are used by companies to track your internet habits.
