The image collections are interdisciplinary and include: American art, architecture, visual and material culture; arts of Asia ; Old Master European prints from the 15th to 19th Centuries; graphic arts and design; Native American Art and Culture from the National Anthropological Archives, Smithsonian Institution; and the Schlesinger photographic archive on the history of women in America .
