  Faculty and Staff Media Booking Information:
Media equipment bookings and deliveries are handled by Jennifer Grimmett. She may be contacted by telephone at extension 617-264-7651 or by email at grimmje@emmanuel.edu.

The deadline for requesting equipment to be checked out or delivered from the Library is one complete business day (24 hours) prior to the date the equipment is needed. If you are a planning a departmental event, please contact Jennifer Grimmett for direction on how to proceed with your media request.
 
 
Requests are reviewed Monday-Friday only.
 
 
How to request media equipment:
 
  1. Review the inventory and policy notes below for available equipment.
2. Click the equipment request form link.
3. Fill out the form completely.
4. Click the submit button.
5. If the equipment you have requested is available, an electronic confirmation will be sent to you within two hours.
6. If the equipment is not available, you will be notified by the end of that business day, or the following day if the request was submitted after 12:00 noon.
 
 
Equipment Available for Pickup at the Library (Circulating Items):
Note: Circulating items must be returned to the library on the same day as check out unless prior arrangements are made with Jennifer Grimmett at the time of the request.

  Empty AV Carts Typically requested in conjunction with the use of a Laptop/LCD Projector set up
  Portable Screens Self-defined

  If your event needs special sound or lighting setup (including microphones), please contact Facilities by phone at 617-735-9950 or by email at facilities@emmanuel.edu. You may also contact Facilities to request extension cords. If you need information on which rooms on campus have existing sound systems, please contact Jennifer Grimmett at extension 617-264-7651 or by email at grimmje@emmanuel.edu.

If your club needs this equipment for an event, you must have a club sponsor (a staff or faculty member) reserve the equipment and check it out for you. Your sponsor is responsible for staying with this equipment for the duration of your event and then returning it to the library.

  Questions or problems associated with the media classrooms or equipment should be directed to Walesk Dube, AV Technical Support Specialist, by phone at 617-735-9966 or by email at dubewa@emmanuel.edu or helpdesk@emmanuel.edu.

Training in the use of media classrooms may be arranged with either: Walesk Dube, AV Technical Support Specialist, at extension 617-735-9966; or Marie Gurry, Director of Academic Computing, at extension 617-735-9873.

Library Media Collection:
 
  Any registered patron of the Cardinal Cushing Library may view videos and DVDs from the collection in the Library’s in-house viewing rooms, located on the lower level. A valid library barcode must be presented at the circulation desk to check out the key to a viewing room. Students must view media in the Library.

Videos, DVDs, and CDs may be checked out by faculty and staff of Emmanuel College by presenting a valid Library barcode at the Circulation Desk.

The media collection is catalogued in the Library's online catalog. To search our DVD, VHS, and CD holdings, limit your search in the online catalog to Emmanuel Media.

To search DVDs or VHS tapes only, add the keyword [videorecording]. To search CDs only, add the keyword [sound recording].

Library videos may not be copied, viewed on multiple screens simultaneously, or used for public showings or events. Only normal classroom viewing as used in a teaching situation is permissible under the Copyright Law Section 107 fair use guidelines.
